Bye bye 2009...Hello 2010!

It just seems like yesterday when I celebrated the new year eve of 2009 and it's 2010 already. Don't you sometimes feel that time seems to be moving by more quickly?

Another year gone now. Bye bye 2009! You have been one helluva year for me. Some of the best things happened and some not so great - few surprises and disappointments - some losses and hope - some ups and downs - laughter and tears . I think you have given me one of the best learning experiences I could ever get.

Hello 2010! I am really looking forward to all that you have in store for me :-)

Have a good twenty ten folks!

Restaurant blues

We had been to this popular South Indian fast food restaurant near our place this weekend. It is well known in the area for its homely food at reasonable pricing and sees a lot of crowd.

We were half way through our dinner, when my husband noticed a teeny-weeny thing floating in the sambar. Initially we thought it was a piece of coriander leaf. But wait, no...on closer examination, we could see the wings and the legs...eeeeks....it was actually a ROACH!  It was  totally appalling and we couldn't believe what we were seeing . We just lost our appetite and left the place.

Now, if you were in a similar situation, what would you have done?
1. Complain about this to the hotel manager
2. Raise an issue and try get your money back
3. Leave the place and resolve never ever to go there again.
4. Rant about it in your blog and may be write some bad reviews online about the restaurant.

I felt we should have atleast done #1 if not #2. But we just did #3 and walked away. And yeah, I am doing #4 now.

Newly wed et al

I am not quite sure how long you get to keep the newly wed title. You know....how it feels so good to call yourself a newly wed, get a little shy and grab some attention . I thought I could get away with it atleast for a couple of years...until yesterday when I met an old colleague. After the brief  hi-s and hello-s,  I mentioned to him about me getting married recently. And he goes,

"Whoa....congratulations, how long have you been married now ?"
"Five months"
"Well...you are almost still a newly married then"

And I thought, "ALMOST" !!! It's only been five months now, and I am already "almost-newly married". HUH.

So folks, what do you think? How long do you think you  can call someone a newly wed?  I guess I am gonna keep this title atleast for a couple of years :-)
